​What is MOMs?

MOMs on the Mountain is a fundraiser for the Nevada City Schools Foundation, which benefits the students of our school district. It is a non-competitive day of scenic beauty, personal challenge and fun for women: mothers and non-moms alike. We’ve had 3 generations hiking and raising funds at the same event. ​Our hikers have ranged in age from 18 to 80+.

Why Should You Come?

It's really fun, and it's for the kids! 
This year we are at it again and hope to make it the best year yet. The monies raised from MOMs directly affects all the students in the Nevada City School district and helps them have a more enriched education. For the next few years, NCSF will focus its funding on projects that maximize the opportunity to reach all students.

Bringing a group? 
Make it even more fun by forming a team! Just have all members list the team name on their registration forms. In the past, many of our teams have opted to wear costumes or matching t-shirts to add a bit of extra amusement to the day.

Planning to come alone, but don't want to hike alone? We've got you covered! Just check the option for our Singles Club on your registration form.

​New this year: Sponsor an Educator Program
We currently charge a reduced price for Nevada County educators. However, we would LOVE to reduce that price even further for Nevada City Schools Staff. The Sponsor Our Educators program is a group fund that will be used to equally reduce the ticket prices for Nevada City School District staff. Can you help us by making a donation to the fund?

2023 Event Schedule 
(Subject to change)

Registration: 8:30-9:30am
Check in, grab your T-shirt, pick your route and spend a little time mingling.
Breakfast: 8:30-9:30am
Treat yourself to a little nourishment. Yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, coffee, tea, and juice will be served for a pre-hike breakfast (included in ticket price).
Hike: Depart 9:30am
Venture out on one of 3 marked trails that suit your hiking desires. 3 hiking distances available, ranging from 2 to 5 miles! (Downloading All Trails app ahead of the hike is HIGHLY recommended for the long trail option.)
Lunch: 12:00-2:00pm
We will host a yummy taco bar full of all the goodies to make a delicious post-hike lunch (included in ticket price).
Silent Auction: 8:30am – 2:30pm
We will have numerous items up for auction from some really great vendors! You won’t want to miss this part.
No-Host Bar: 12:00-2:30pm
Wine, beer, and festive drinks are available for purchase.
Relaxation and Games: 12:30-3:00pm
This is a great way to relax and cool down after the hike. Kick back, chat with old friends, make some new friends, and enjoy Human Bingo & lawn games.
Awards Ceremony: 2:00pm
Prizes will be awarded for the First to Register, Largest Team, and Farthest Traveled. We'll also do the drawing for Human Bingo prizes.

From I-80, take exit 174, Norden/Soda Springs. Traveling from the west, go straight at the stop. From the east, turn left over the bridge, then another left onto Highway 40 / Donner Pass Road, following signs to ski resorts, 3 miles.
